Ben Green’s running journey is deeply rooted in his family history, with a father who was an age-group world 1500m record holder and a national champion, and an uncle who achieved impressive times in various distances, including a World Championship team bronze medal. Ben’s running achievements began early, medalling at national championships at 15 and winning the 1500m Northern Championships at 18. He pursued athletics seriously at Loughborough University on a scholarship, representing England four times and ranking in the top 10 U20s globally for 800m. After university, Ben joined Unilever’s Finance Graduate Scheme in London, where he used running for its mental health benefits. Notably, he set world records for the fastest father/son marathon and half marathon with his dad and ran a 2:30 marathon.
